The Crew

This year  I learned a lot about history and my ancestors. I enjoyed learning about Abraham Lincoln because it taught me a lot about being a good citizen.  I also learned a lot about the ocean and the blob fish.  I think we can stop pollution and global warming to make the world better.  I have made new friends and got to hang out with old friends too.  I am sad this year is almost over.  I’m also happy to try third grade. check out Henrys blog Henry’s Blog also Griffins blog Griffin’s Blog also my friend Xanders blog Xander’s Blog.

Are you sad that school is almost done? It’s almost third grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Love My Mom!!

I love my mom.  She is nice.  She is kind.  We just “get” each other.  Me and my mom made up a game called Star Wars.  We play it with nerf guns.  It is fun because if you get hit with a dart, you are outI love mom

What do you love about your mom?

African Drumming!!!

Last week our class went to Okaidja Afroso because he was teaching us African drumming, dancing and story telling.  It was really cool.  We all had fun.  My favorite part was all of it.  He told us the story of Anansi the Spider.  Did you know that story comes from Ghana in Africa? We did a performance on Friday for our families.  He also taught Ms. Wise’s class and Ms. Kriesel’s.  We all did good!

Do you want to drum, dance and tell stories?

Let’s Play

I like to play hockey so I thought it would be cool to make home made hockey sticks and pucks to play with outside.  I also think making kites is fun.  I would use a broom and a tennis ball or two sticks and a rock.

What do you like to play?

My Weekend Favorite! Pancakes

On the weekend my mom and I like to make pancakes for my dad and sister.  I love to make them from scratch.  They are best with homemade blackberry jelly or real maple syrup.  YUM!

Makes 16 3-inch pancakes.

Whisk together in a large bowl:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Combine in another bowl:
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 eggs
(1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract)
Mix the liquid quickly into the dry ingredients. Grease a skillet lightly with butter or oil and do so as needed between batches. The heat is correct when a few drops of cold water on the skillet bounce and sputter, not boiling or evaporating. Use 1/4 cup batter for each pancake. When bubbles appear on the surface on the pancake and the edges have browned, turn the cake and cook only until the second side is done.

Africa Bridge Reading Challenge

We are raising money for Africa Bridge to make desks and to get cows so families can sell milk so the kids can go to school.  I am so glad I can help.  I am reading a book called Timmy Failure and my family is sponsoring me.  I am just one person who is helping.  Everyone can help.  Even just one dollar helps.

Would you like to help too?
